Independent school athletic directors occupy one of the most influential leadership roles within their schools. They are entrusted with building athletic programs that reflect institutional values, foster student growth, pursue competitive excellence, and strengthen school culture. At the same time, they work in close partnership with the Head of School and other senior leaders to ensure athletics advances the school's mission, strategic priorities, and educational philosophy. Yet despite these unique responsibilities, independent school athletic directors have lacked a professional home dedicated exclusively to their needs. This association was created to fill that gap and bring together a community of leaders who understand the distinct challenges and opportunities of independent school athletics. Through collaboration, mentorship, meaningful professional development, and the sharing of innovative ideas and best practices, members gain the relationships, knowledge, and support needed to lead with confidence, elevate their programs, and make a lasting impact on their schools and the student-athletes they serve.
